Richard Gomez Disqualified by Comelec on his Congressional Bid

He once ran for senator and lost but it seems that fate is sending the message that politics is not meant for this hot celebrity.

Richard Gomez has been disqualified by the Comelec First Division from running for a congressional seat on the hometown of his wife Lucy Torres in Ormoc, Leyte.

The very reason that the Commission on Elections has stopped Gomez is because of residency problems.

A former barangay chairman in Ormoc, Mr. Juntilla raised the issue and filed a petition for disqualification as he said Gomez’s residency on his certificate of candidacy is in Greenhills, San Juan and not in Can Adien, Ormoc.

The hot Pinoy actor has dismissed these claims as nothing but political harassment of his rival, and his lawyers are already preparing his appeal of the case to the Comelec en banc and people are going to expect the his camp is to exhaust all legal means for his congressional aspirations not to be hindered.
