Angeline Quinto Star Power Grand Winner is Former Rival of Sarah Geronimo
Angeline Quinto was ecstatic after she was declared Sunday night as the grand winner of Star Power, the singing competition hosted by mega star Sharon Cuneta on ABS-CBN.
This lady who hails from Sampaloc, Manila bested other grand finalists during 3 rounds of singing showdown held at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, Rizal.
Krissel Valdez from Davao comes in at second place while Monica Sacay from Leyte settled for third place.
Billy Crawford, Mitch Valdez and Bobot Mortiz served as judges.
Quinto, who was an early crowd favorite, took home 1 million pesos, a brand new car and entertainment showcase courtesy of Sony Entertainment. She also received a recording contract from Star Records and will become part of ASAP.
“Sobrang pasasalamat ko sa Panginoon sa lahat ng blessings na binigyay niya sa akin. Noong nakapasok ako sa Star Power hindi ko po inasahan yung ganito. Matutupad na din ang pangarap ko na magpa-thanksgiving sa lahat ng simbahan na pinupuntahan ko lagi,” said Quinto on an interview with ABS-CBN.com.
Quinto was once the rival of Sarah Geronimo in 2002 when the two clashed for the grand finals of the “Star for A Night.” Sarah won during that singing competition and from since then has never looked back.
