Thia Megia Wants to Take Away Sarah Geronimo’s Throne as Pop Princess After American Idol Stint
The road towards getting the American Idol Season 10 throne is already finished for Thia Megia, the Filipina-American contestant on the popular US television show on Fox.
Thia was joined by Naima Adedapo and Paul MacDonald on the bottom three after last night’s voting.
Thia Megia together with Naima Adedapo got the lowest votes and were sent home. This week, two Idol contestants are sent home after the judges used their “save” on Casey Abrams last week.
Before she has left all her dreams on stage, she performed for the last time the Elton John hit song “Daniel.” Afterwhich, Randy Jackson told her:
“It is time to say goodbye Thia. Sorry. But don’t stop dreaming and believing.”
Jennifer Lopez on the other hand told the Californian,
“Sorry baby. Maybe you just have to go home to the Philippines and let your star shine there even brighter. I know you made your family proud of what you have reached here on Idol.”
Thia with tears on her eyes thanked the judges and walk away with all her dreams ending up on the Idol stage.
After the show, Thia was interviewed by Entertainment Daily, a prominent Filipino-American entertainment tabloid based in Hollywood. She was asked if what is her next plan after Idol.
Thia responded,
“I need first to take time out to rest and relax. Most probably I will have to visit our relatives in the Philippines next month.”
Alex Exposito, the reporter of Entertainment Daily prodded her if she knows Sarah Geronimo.
“I have heard of her Zara Heromino (sic). Yes. I think I have watched her once or twice on the Filipino channel at home. I think I am a much better singer than her. She should better watch out because, if Charice Pempengco has achieved way much better than her, I can easily grab her throne as a Pop Star Princess.”
Woah!

Napaka-insensitive naman ng writer ng article na ito. I don’t think that Thia is like spending her time mourning after she got eliminated, coz only the day after she was so happy together with Naima singing at Jay Leno’s show.
And I would like tell you that I did not write this article just to get lots of visitors and earn more. I don’t need to do that to earn more or get lots of attention. Everything is in the spirit of fun.
If one cannot simply stand a satire especially on April 1st, then one should just better stay out of the radar of those who would like to have some fun on a day that it is permitted to do so. I would be insensitive if I have done this on November 1st…
