Andrew Keegan Was Not Tasered

The ‘10 Things I Hate About You’ actor Andrew Keegan has denied reports he was tasered by police in Marina Del Ray, California.

According to Keegan, he helped organize a fundraiser called Street Sessions hosted by C Street Organization, a community collective which, according to its mission statement, brings “awareness of the charities important to our community” through “organized neighborhood gatherings.”

As Keegan told US Weekly, “It was the most peaceful gathering,” He said the organization spent “countless hours” to make sure they had alcohol permits and community approval before the event.

At around 5:00 p.m. July 2, 45 to 50 LAPD officers arrived on the walk street after responding to an incident at another party in the area.

Keegan said, “It just kind of escalated to something.”

Before he could make sense of what was happening, he was detained in handcuffs and cited with a misdemeanor offense for loud music (although he says there was no noise complaint made) before being released.

As to being tasered, as many outlets claimed? He insisted, “No, no, no.”

Tasered or not, explain to me why harass, much less taser, a guy doing good deeds for the community? Would you rather have these Hollywood celebrities drunk driving, smoking pot or violating their probation so you would cut them some slack and stay a good hundred feet away from them. Take Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton for example. You know very well they got away with just a slap on the wrist for their various and consistent law violations.
