Pacquiao and Nowitzki Battle in Teen Awards
Looks like pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao is also a big hit to the teens.
Pacman, as Pacquiao is popularly known, has been nominated for Choice Athlete : Male Category in the 2011 Teen Choice awards.
The eight-time world division champion shares the nomination with Dallas Mavericks Dirk Nowitzki, reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones, two-time Winter Olympics gold medalist Shaun White, and Cardinals Albert Pujols.
Congressman Pacman, early this year, dominated the match with Sugar Shane Mosley.
Dirk Nowitzki, originally from Germany, is a 13-year veteran who was chosen as the NBA Finals MVP for leading the team to victory this season.
Bones made buzz for his technical knockout win against Mauricio Rua at UFC 128 last March. He won four matches straight either by TKO or submission.
Pujols, Cardinals first baseman, is part of Major League Baseball’s top 50 home run hitters. He is also the the current Gold Glove award winner.
White, who hails from California, is famous in the snowboarding world. At the age of nine, he became a Tony Hawk protege and became a pro at age 17.
