Amy Winehouse’s Family Says Goodbye
Finally, three days after her death, Amy Winehouse has been laid to rest in accordance with traditional Jewish funeral rites.
Her family and about 100 mourners, including Winehouse’s producer Mark Ronson and best friend Kelly Osbourne, attended the funeral that closed with Amy’s father Mitch saying, “Good night my angel, sleep tight; Mummy and Daddy love you ever so much.”
Carole King’s ‘So Far Away’ was played at the end of the service.
In his eulogy, Mitch Winehouse said his 27-year-old daughter had been very happy in recent months and was looking forward to a future with film director Reg Traviss, her boyfriend of the past two years.
Earlier, Traviss told the Sun newspaper, “She had been full of life and so upbeat recently, exercising every day and doing yoga. This terrible thing that happened is like an accident.”
The inquest, which opened on Monday (and was adjourned until October) was unable to determine the cause of Amy’s death. Police can only describe the death as ‘unexplained’ pending more medical tests, the results of which are expected next month.Get free updates directly to your e-mail from Showbiz Renegade.
