The Girls’ Generation band appointed as Honorary Ambassador


South Korea’s No.1 Girl group,Girls’ Generation has been appointed as the Honorary Ambassadors for “2010-2012 VISIT KOREA YEAR” by the Visit Korea Committee.

The Committee chairman Shin Dong Bin will formally appoint Girls’ Generation as Honorary Ambassador this August 19th at Lotte Hotel Crystal Ballroom.

Just recently hailed as the most popular Korean act, Girls’ Generation will be working with fellow Hallyu star Yongjoon Bae, Korea’s figure skating queen, Yuna Kim, and a popular animated character, Pororo as honorary ambassadors of ‘2010-2012 Visit Korea Year

The Girls’ Genearation band are introduced at the “Korea Visit Year SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR in PARIS” which was held last June 10 to 11 in Paris, France as the K-POP band.

With confidence over this so-called Korean Wave, the secretary-general of Visit Korea Committee, Joomin Hong revealed “Recently, K-POP has been becoming a hot issue throughout the world, therefore we are anticipating an increase in Visit Korea Year promotions as well as the value of Korean sightseeing brand by appointing Girls’ Generation who has been leading Korean wave.”

Girls’Generation,the international name of South Korean girl group So Nyeo Shi Dae is composed of nine members,who conquered the music, modelling, acting and so on industries on some parts of Asia and Europe has been the face, along with label mates Super Junior, of the international frenzy in Kpop.
