Rowan Atkinson Probably Might Not Play ‘Mr. Bean’ Again

Oh no! This cannot be true.

Mention ‘Mr. Bean’ and the face you will most likely associate it with is Rowan Atkinson’s. He plays the character so well you would think ‘Mr. Bean’ is him in real life. Who else can play or look exactly like Rowan Atkinson… except Rowan Atkinson?

But, at 56, British actor Rowan Atkinson, whose latest flick is ‘Johnny English: Reborn’ will be shown in theaters soon, doubts if loyal ‘Mr. Bean’ viewers will get a chance to see any new (mis)adventures of the comical character… because he feels too old to play it.

Atkinson was quoted as saying, “I’ve got a feeling I probably won’t play the character (Mr.Bean) again. Never say never, but I just feel I’m getting too old for it. I’ve always liked Mr Bean as a cartoon-like figure, who doesn’t really age much.”

Rowan further describes his ‘Mr. Bean’ character as “a child in a grown man’s body”.

“I’ve always seen him as an ageless and timeless being and I’m clearly not ageless and timeless. The older I get, I feel I am less qualified to play him,” Atkinson adds.

[Won’t Botox do the trick? I can’t imagine anyone else playing the character as well as he does.]
