Bizarre Robber Breaks into Celine Dion’s House
Aside from the Paris Hilton burglar, who instead of quietly slipping into Hilton’s abode, the way professional burglars do, banged loudly on her window to be let in, what could be weirder or more bizarre than a robber who takes his time, raids the fridge, leaves wrappers as evidence and even draws himself a nice warm bath?
Probable answer: If the robber even lighted some scented candles and played Celine Dion’s records while soaking in the warm bath.
But, the man who broke into the Laval, Quebec home of Celine Dion and Rene Angelil, did not get to that point because he had already set off the security alarm.
Montreal police arrested Daniel Bedard, 36, who jumped a fence and then used a garage door opener (discovered in an unlocked car) to break into the house, located just outside Montreal.
The singer and her husband were not home at the time of the break-in.
According to police spokesman Franco Di Genova, Bedard “opened the water faucets, (and) was pouring a nice warmish bath. He even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge.”
Officers also found snack wrappers in the kitchen and cigarette butts and discarded notes in an office.
Bedard then claimed to officers he was a “family friend” couple.Get free updates directly to your e-mail from Showbiz Renegade. Just enter your e-mail below and confirm your subscription by clicking the link that will be sent to your e-mail.
