Dancing With The Stars Boot Metta World Peace AKA Ron Artest

Even the name change did not save Metta World Peace from elimination on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 13. The professional basketball player formerly known as Ron Artest looked awful with his 260-pound, six-foot-seven frame on the dance floor. By the end of the season debut, World Peace was at the bottom of the 12-pair lineup with 14 points out of a possible 30.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ enforcer wore jersey number 37 in honor of the late Michael Jackson. 37 was the number of consecutive weeks that Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ album stayed at number one on the charts. Unfortunately for World Peace, he did not have half the moves of the King of Pop.

The feisty NBA player best known for his defensive skills had no use for his hard court footwork on the ballroom dance floor as scores by DWTS judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli showed.

It was an early exit for the eccentric athlete but everyone saw it coming after his cha cha routine with partner Peta Murgatroyd. Rob Kardashian should be a likely candidate for elimination next week.
