Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed Wed After 28 Years

KISS bassist Gene Simmons has finally tied the knot. The iconic rock star married Shannon Tweed, his long-time girlfriend with whom he has two children. Simmons and Tweed have lived together for 28 years and are parents to children Nick, 22, and Sophie Alexandra, 19. Sophie was maid of honor at the ceremony.

The couple walked down the aisle at a Beverly Hills Hotel lawn on Saturday night to the cheers of guests as Simmons said “I do” to his lovely bride. Guests at the ceremony included TV host-comedian Bill Maher, member of KISS and Hugh Hefner. Hef showed his support for the 54-year old bride who was a Playboy Playmate of the Year.

The first dance was quite fitting for the newly married couple as daughter Sophie sang Etta James’ classic ‘At Last’.

The couple announced their engagement a month ago to the surprise of their fans. It was unexpected given the fact that they have been living together for 28 years now.

The wedding will be featured in the reality TV show Gene Simmons Family Jewels on October 18.
