Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi Say No to Kids

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi seem to be the kind of couple who would make great parents.

Ellen shows a great love for kids, especially those with extraordinary talents, through the opportunities she gives to children she often finds on YouTube by having them on her show.
But, it seems Ellen and Portia are not to keen on having kids of their own — whether biologically, through a surrogate or even through adoption.

Ellen shared their take on the issue via her new book, ‘Seriously… I’m Kidding, which is out now.

“People are constantly asking Portia and me if we are going to have children. We thought about it. We love to be around children after they’ve been fed and bathed. But we ultimately decided that we don’t want children of our own. There is far too much glass in our house.”
Kidding aside, DeGeneres said she and her wife, Portia, already have plenty of others to look after.

“We have two dogs, Mabel and Wolf, and three cats at home, Charlie, George and Chairman. We have two cats on our farm, Tom and Little Sister, two horses, and two mini horses, Hannah and Tricky. We also have two cows, Holy and Madonna,” DeGeneres writes. “And those are only the animals we let sleep in our bed.”

DeGeneres and de Rossi were married in 2008, during the brief period when same-sex marriage was legal in California.
