The Original Returns! Will it Surpass X Factor?
America’s reality TV singing competition show which was created by Simon Fuller is now back on it’s 11th season. The question is, would it be successful now since original host Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul are in the X – Factor, which is by the way has the same concept with the latter.
It started airing last night, showing different talents of America. The first audition was held in Savannah GA, where a 17 year – old boy named David Leathers Jr., blew the jurors, Steve Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, on his spectacular performance right away. There was also a 24 year- old unemployed lady from Tennessee named Amy Brumfield who wowed the judges by her performance.
Other auditions were held in Texas and Nashville. Overall, there were 42 hopefuls who made it to Hollywood in Georgia audition. But they’re expecting more in Pittsburgh which will be shown in tomorrow’s episode.
American Idol debuted in 2002. It’s an addition to idol franchise based on the UK show called Pop Idol. The show had produced greatest singers in the industry through telephone, internet and text message voting. X – Factor’s Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul together with Randy Jackson were the first judges of the said competition. Paula Abdul left the show before season nine started and was replace by Ellen DeGeneres. In 2010 Cowell decided to leave the show to introduce the American version of this show which was co – produced by him and Abdul.Get free updates directly to your e-mail from Showbiz Renegade.
