Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs
After playing internet billionaire Walden Schmidt on ‘Two and a Half Men’, Ashton Kutcher moves on to conquer bigger roles and now he is about to play one of the most influential tech figures in the world — Kutcher will be playing the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs in a biopic aptly titled ‘Jobs’.
‘Jobs’ will follow the Apple co-founder’s life from willful hippie to running one of the most successful computer companies in the world. Matt Whitley wrote the script and Joshua Michael Stern, the director of ‘Swing Vote’ will direct the film.
Kutcher is currently negotiating a deal to return to ‘Two and a Half Men’ next season, and is set to start shooting ‘Jobs’ in May while on hiatus from the CBS sitcom.
Noah Wyle of ‘ER’ previously played Jobs in the 1999 TNT movie ‘Pirates of Silicon Valley’, with Anthony Michael Hall playing Bill Gates.
The Apple co-founder died in October 2011 at the age of 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.Get free updates directly to your e-mail from Showbiz Renegade. Just enter your e-mail below and confirm your subscription by clicking the link that will be sent to your e-mail.
