Miss Universe to Allow Transgenders to Compete

Miss Universe organizers have made another landmark decision shortly after allowing Jenna Talackova to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant.

After prohibiting the 23-year-old Talackova from competing in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant for being transgendered, the Miss Universe organizers not only allowed Talackova to compete but it also opened its doors to all transgender contestants who wish to join the Miss Universe competitions — starting in the 2013 pageant season.

On April 10, the Miss Universe Organization and GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) released a joint statement saying they are, “pleased to announce that after more than two weeks of discussions, the Miss Universe Organization is close to finalizing an official policy change that will allow women who are transgender to participate in its beauty competitions.”

Talackova, whose petition to be allowed to compete probably paved the way for this policy change, was biologically born a male, but underwent hormone therapy at age 14 and gender reassignment surgery at 19.

What is the essence of being a woman?
-Woman can now easily be replaced by a man…

    GRRRR……

    DEAR MR. TRUMPH,

MISS UNIVERSE ARE FOR WOMAN, MAKE ANOTHER INDEPENDENT EVENT FOR TRANSGENDER. allowing them to join Ms. Universe means we ladies are also allowed to join Ms. GAY competition…??? I am a woman, you have wife, a mother, sister or daughter maybe… i have gay friends and relatives and maybe you do too. But this is unacceptable. It doesn’t mean we discriminate the transgender if you dont allow them on the competition, consider that still they are men, strength and body of a man. We woman feel really sad, and we are disappointed on this issue. PLEASE RESPECT THE RIGHT AND FEELINGS OF A WOMAN… YOU ARE TOTALLY DEGRADING US NOW.

GLAAD’s idea of equality pertaining to Miss Universe Pageant is twisted, distorted and crude. Crazy…. This is GLAAD’s one sided idea.
