Pacquiao vs Marquez IV Earnings: Pacman could Earn up to $30 Million

In this mega-fight to cap the year in boxing, staged Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, many people are surely asking of, in this so intense a rivalry between the two boxers, how much are they going to take home?  How much, in terms of financial rewards is at stake in this rivalry inside the ring?

Well, for this Pacquiao vs Marque IV, the 8-eight division world champion from the Philippines stands to earn up to $30 million.

This figure comes from Todd duBoef of Top Rank.

In this fourth match, Pacquiao will receive a guaranteed purse of $8.595 million, way higher than that of Marquez’s of $3 million.  This of course does not yet include income and the fighters’ cut from the pay-per-view sales.

The pay-per-view will be under HBO, and estimates indicate that that his fight could exceed 1 million PPV sales and might even surpass the 1.3 million PPV they registered last year in their third match-up.

Another income stream that will beef up the paycheck of the fighters, especially that of Pacquiao is income coming from foreign television.

Of course, these earning, especially for Pacquiao who is having the bigger part of the pie, will also be subject to taxes which is about 50%, according to boxing analysts.

So if Manny makes $30 million, minus taxes, he is still going to take home a cool $15 million, which is still by the way a very big amount.

Keith Kaizer, Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, already announced the fight judges and referee for this match.

The Pacquiao vs Marquez IV fight is on December 8, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
