‘Top Gun’ Celebrates 25th Anniversary

It has been 25 years since ‘Top Gun’ hit movie theaters. To commemorate the iconic Tom Cruise starrer that launched him to Hollywood superstardom, a 25th anniversary edition DVD was released.

This will give today’s generation the chance to see the film and witness just some of the memorable scenes from Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell’s (Tom Cruise’s character) cocky one-liners to the bar scene wherein Maverick and partner Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards) sing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” for Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis) who turns out to be a Top Gun instructor.

The movie boasts of a talented cast that includes Meg Ryan, Val Kilmer, Tom Skerritt, Tim Robbins, Michael Ironside and James Tolkan.

The highest grossing film of 1986 also has an original soundtrack that features two songs from 80’s music icon Kenny Loggins and the song “Take My Breath Away” by the band Berlin. “Great Balls of Fire” by Jerry Lee Lewis and “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” by the Righteous Brothers were not on the original soundtrack released in 1986 but were included in the re-release of the soundtrack in 2000.

Most likely, you can find Buy.com coupon codes for either the movie or the soundtrack, and save some change.
