Amitabh Bachchan: “The Great Gatsby” a Rewarding Experience

 

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is no stranger to doing movies. The senior Bachchan has been and continues to be one of the Indian movie industry’s foremost luminaries, with films spanning decades into his illustrious acting career.

But, ever thirsty for learning new techniques in movie-making, Amitabh considers working on Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’, his first Hollywood movie, a rewarding experience.

The 69-year-old actor is currently in Sydney wrapping up shooting for the film wherein he plays the role o Meyer Wolfsheim. The epic film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the enigmatic Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway and Carey Mulligan.

Bachchan, ever so gracious, wrote in his blog that the crew was wonderful to work with.

“It has been a rewarding experience. The filming, the procedures, the discipline and the systematic manner in which productions are managed. There is a very committed attitude and desire to get the right moment and the right shot, irrespective of the time and repeats it takes and that is most educative,” Bachchan wrote.

Amitabh, a National award-winning actor, is also all praises for the quality of work and the professionalism of the Hollywood cast and crew.

“Equipments being used are of the highest quality and the latest and the respect for the talent is unbeatable. There is a sense of great proficiency and efficiency in the way work gets conducted here and that is remarkable,” he added.
