American Idol Results: Casey Abrams Saved, Two Contestants will Be Sent Home Next Week

For the first time in season 10 of American Idol, the Idol judges used their power to save a contestant in order to continue in the competition.

Casey Abrams, 20, received the lowest votes after the “Motown” classic performances. More than 30 million viewers cast their votes.  Casey Abrams was joined by Thia Megia and Stefano Langone on the bottom three.  But the two went in and Casey’s fate were up to the judges.

Randy Jackson said of Casey during the elimination nigh

“We know who you are, Casey. We don’t need to hear you sing anymore, do we Steven?”

With these words, Casey obviously looked nervous, short of throwing up.  However, a redemption was revealed by Steven.

Steven Tyler, who celebrated his birthday on the show replied,

“Yeah, this is crazy wrong. We made a decision here to keep you on.”

For this, the host of the show Ryan Seacrest announced,

“They’re using the one save for Casey Abrams! …The judges used their one save of the season for Casey Abrams, ladies and gentlemen. Congratulations.”

With the “save” used by the judges during last night’s eliminations, the bad news is that 2 idol hopefuls will be sent home next week.
