Jackie Chan, Leads the Vigil and Concert for Tsunami Victims

Famous actor Jackie Chan announced that he will perform a three-hour charity concert and a vigil with various Hongkong celebrities to raise funds dedicated to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

“The earthquake in Japan was a devastating disaster and I want the Japanese people to know that my thoughts are with them. We all need to do everything we can to help and support the Red Cross and other relief organizations and to pray that the Japanese people will heal quickly from the emotional, physical, and economic devastation,” said the 56-year-old actor.

He also shared that they already started their rehearsals for the concert; Love Without Borders 3/11 Candlelight Gala. For Chan, it’s important to make a step for the victims of a disaster.

“This is a concept of the Global Village. It doesn’t matter if it’s a South Asia Disaster, an earthquake in Taiwan, we are in Asia, we need to do something for our neighbour countries and friends,” he said.

Love Without Borders 3/11 Candlelight Gala will take place at Victoria Park in Hong Kong on April 1, and will feature up to 100 performers.
