Willing Willie Host Willie Revillame and Manny Pangilinan Faces Child Abuse Case


A new headache for Willie Revillame and TV5.

Members of child’s right advocate groups filed a case against “Willing Willie” host Willie Revillame and TV5 executives over the alleged incident involving a 6-year old boy named Jan-Jan Suan on one of the show’s episodes.

This case stems from the episode of “Willing Willie” wherein Jan-Jan was seen dancing an erotic dance move while shedding precious tears all for P10,000.

The incident elicited criticisms from many sectors many of which from celebrities and human rights advocates.  The MTRCB is presently investigating the case while “Willing Willie” is still off air.

Willie Revillame on the other hand assailed all those who maligned him and falsely accused him saying that there is an orchestrated attempt to discredit him and put a stop to his top-rating game show.

Members of the End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes (ECPAT) filed the case at the Quezon City Fiscal’s Office on Monday said reports.

Respondents on the child abuse complaint are “Willing Willie” host Willie Revillame, TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan and other executives of of the network

In the report of ABS-CBN News, those who filed the complaint cited “Republic Act (RA) 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Axploitation, and Discrimination Act; RA 9775 or the Act Defining the Crime of Child Pornography; and RA 9231 or An Act Eliminating the Worst Forms of Child Labor” for which the said respondents allegedly violated.

Part of the complaint reads,

“The depiction of the child in such a sexualized fashion is tantamount to abuse and exploitation…

The degrading exhibition is compounded by the cruelty of the show’s main host, mocking his [boy’s] appearance amidst the laughter of the jeering crowd.”
