Red Riding Hood Disappoints Movie Debut, Toppled by Battle Los Angeles

Amanda Seyfried’s movie “Red Riding Hood” failed to impress movie goers over the weekend as it was trumped down by an action film.

“Battle Los Angeles” took home $36 million over the weekend on it debut.  Seyfried’s movie only registered $14 million and settled at the number three spot behind “Rango”.

The Warner Bros. movie budgeted the film at $42 million.  It was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and stars Amanda Seyfried, Billy Burke, Lukas Haas, Max Irons, Shiloh Fernandez, Virginia Madsen, Julie Christie and Gary Oldman.

Coming at number three spot is Matt Damon and Emily Blunt’s “The Adjustment Bureau”.  On its second week, this weekend, the movie raked in $11.4 million with a total of $38.45 million to date.

An adaptation from the popular fairy tale story, them movie was however given a PG-13 ratings due to some violence; a far cry of course from what our moms tell us during bed time.
