Elton John Gives Two Music Upstarts a Break

Out scouting for really talented people who could be the next big star? Then do what Oprah and Ellen Degeneres did… do a search on Youtube!

That might be just what  music legend Sir Elton John did before he decided to have two music upstarts on his concert tour.

Sir Elton is reported to be taking along with him in his summer tour two 24-year-old music students, Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser.

Sulic and Hauser, who live in a small town in Croatia, were said to have been discovered via… you guessed it… YouTube, where the duo posted their unique cello music video of a popular Michael Jackson song, Smooth Criminal. Not only did the video get them noticed, it went viral!

Clearly, it was a dream come true for both Sulic and Hauser because that video was really meant to be just a fun cello exercise. Instead, it got Sony Masterworks to sign a deal with them. So, you can say the phone call from Sir Elton John to invite them to join him on his European tour this summer is more of an icing on an already scrumptious cake.

Hauser sums up what he and Sulic are feeling now, by saying, “I feel so blessed that all of this is happening — a record deal with Sony Masterworks and a tour with Elton John —who would have imagined this!”
