Playboy’s July Issue to Have “Runaway Bride” Sticker

You just have to hand it to Hugh Hefner to turn any adversity into a very good marketing tactic. Maybe this is all that is needed to boost the Playboy magazine’s sagging sales record.

Playboy founder Hefner announced on Wednesday that the upcoming July Playboy issue (set to be released in news stands on Friday), which coincidentally has former fiancée Crystal Harris on the cover, will now bear “Runaway Bride” stickers over the lower bottom half of her picture.

In the said Playboy issue, Crystal was described as “America’s Princess, Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner.” So, Hefner felt he had to remedy the situation in the spirit of journalistic accuracy.

He tweeted, “Recent events call for a special sticker on the July cover. Look for it on news stands.”

The magazine’s spokesperson later said the sticker will only appear on news stand copies since issues have already been mailed to subscribers.

The supposed two-hour TV special featuring Hef and Crystal’s wedding due to air July 13 on cable channel Lifetime has also been cancelled.

Despite what Crystal Harris said to be the reason for her cancelling, I still think she had a rude awakening about marrying an 85-year old. She’s only 25 years old after all.
