Korean Girl Group JQT set to invade USA

The word JQT, a term so alien, probably doesn’t ring a bell? Well atleast for now. But come next year, you might not just be chanting this three letter word but also memorizing lyrics from their songs. According to the Korean music industry, KPop for short, the locally famous girl group is set to invade the western soil next year.

A spokesperson from the girl band has just announced early this month that the singing quartet had met with Capital Records and also producer Melvin Brown. The meeting talked about plans of entering the US market and a possible collaboration with hip-hop artist Akon.

According to sources, officials from Capital Records got interested with the group when they first heard the song “Peekaboo”. Reports have it that Capital Records made an exceptionally large offer to get the girls sign the contract.

JQT is a band composed of Park Min Jung, Le Ji Eun, Park Ga Jin– all three are members of the now defunct i-13–, and Joo Min Sun. All girls have the letter J in their names, hence the ‘J’. The Q and T stands for Quality and Quartet. The group released their first single last October 6, 2009 and was viewed over 200,000 times in Korea.

The group is currently working on their new album which is due out January 2012. Their first single will be premiered worldwide this coming December.
