Jake Gyllenhaal Witnesses LA Gang Shooting


Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has gotten himself some early publicity for a movie. Gyllenhaal along with Michael Pena, were riding along with cops on Wednesday night, July 13 in South Los Angeles as research for their new film.

The two will star in a film titled End of Watch which is about the friendship of two longtime LAPD partners.

The actors were riding with Sgt. Tammy Bowen who received a call about a gang shooting in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the metro. They then headed to Van Ness Park in the 5700 block of South 2nd Avenue where they witnessed the aftermath of the shooting.

Police and fire fighters were also on the scene while the two actors, who were wearing baseball caps, were on the side lines observing.

The man who was reportedly shot by rival gang members was treated by paramedics after suffering from a grazing bullet wounds above his lip and arm. This man, whose injuries were non-life-threatening, was not identified and did not cooperate with authorities. No suspects have been identified in the case.

This wasn’t the first time that the Brokeback Mountain actor rode in with LAPD cops, officials said.

The movie is expected to be released in 2013.
