Rihanna is New Facebook Queen

Rihanna has just overtaken Lady Gaga by having a hundred thousand more followers in Facebook. So I guess it’s safe to say that the California King Bed singer is the new Facebook Queen. Rihanna is now declared the most popular female star on the social networking site.

As of this writing, the Barbados-born singer has amassed 40,879,533 likes for her Facebook page whereas the Born This Way singer has 40,769,489 likes.

Little monsters need not fret though. Gaga still rules Twitterworld. It will be a long while before the Love the Way You Lie singer catches up with the Judas singer. Rihanna currently has 6,160,047 followers while Lady Gaga has 11,708,938.

According to Famecount’s aggregate rankings, Gaga is still on top of the list when her Facebook likes, Twitter followers and YouTube views are all taken into account. Second on the list is teen sensation Justin Bieber while Rihanna ranks third.

Rihanna, 23, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, grew up in Saint Michael, Barbados and moved to the United States when she was 16 to pursue a music career. She signed a contract with Def Jam Records after auditioning to then-label head Jay-Z. She released her debut studio album in 2005, Music of the Sun.

Lady Gaga, 25, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is an alumna of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She was signed with Streamline Records and wrote songs for fellow label artists until Akon recognized her vocal prowess and signed her with his label, Kon Live Distribution.
