“Mermaid’s Mine!”, Bette Midler To Lady Gaga

65 year old Bette Midler has been ranting about her so called “Mermaid-on-a-Wheelchair” concept that according to her, Lady Gaga has stolen. The Divine Miss M isn’t totally happy that Lady Gaga seemed to be taking all the credit of the concept where in fact she has been doing it ages ago. According to her several tweets to Lady Gaga: “I’ve been doing singing mermaid in a wheelchair since 1980-You can keep the meat dress and the firecracker t–s,‘Mermaid’s mine’.” Lady Gaga had this “Mermaid-on-a-Wheelchair” performance in a show last week in Australia.

“I’m not sure @ladygaga knows that I’ve performed my mermaid in a wheelchair for millions of people – and many of them are still alive,” Midler further tweeted. “Dear @ladygaga if you think a mermaid in a wheelchair seems familiar – it’s because it is! You can see it on youtube 24/7 – with ME performing it,” she continued.

It is actually not the first time that Lady Gaga has been accused of copying concepts in her songs and performances. Her hit song “Born This Way” has been liken to Madonna’s “Express Yourself”. When being pressed about the issue, the 25 year old star straightly answered: “I swear to you, I am not stupid enough to put out a record and be that moronic. Why would I try and put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about.”
