Alec Baldwin to Host SNL for the 16th Time

If there is a Saturday Night Live Most Number of Hosting award, Alec Baldwin would definitely be the declared winner. In the whole SNL History, the 53-year-old Knots Landing star have appeared 15 times already, and has recently signed on for one more.

Baldwin, who was formerly married to actress Kim Basinger, has confirmed that he will take on the stage to host the season premiere of America’s most loved late night television sketch comedy on September 24.

While the oldest of the Baldwin Brothers has officially announced his comeback, no news on whether his Twitter BFF and SNL MNH second runner up, Steve Martin will be invited back to 30 Rockefeller Plaza to entertain the audience.

SNL, developed by Lorne Michaels and Dick Eberso, has guaranteed its fans more laughters in the upcoming episodes. Which is why producers have asked funny gal Melissa McCarthy to appear in the show, to which the Bridesmaid star agreed. This will be the 40-year-old actress’s first hosting gig.

Saturday Night Live, formerly known as NBC’s Saturday Night, first premiered on October 11, 1975. The show has been on air for 36 years already and has invited a multitude of famous celebrities since.

Well, Break a Leg Alec and Melissa. The Nation sure needs a few good laughs.
