Gavin DeGraw Now Stable After Savage Assault

It was early Monday at around 4:30 a.m when singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw was brought to the Bellevue Hospital after being attacked by a gang. He was drinking with friends in the city’s Lower East Side when the gang broke his nose. He also obtained cuts and was even hit by a taxi by the 6th Street and 1st Avenue as he tried to escape from the scene. His perpetrators also escaped when the singer was taken by the ambulance for treatment. As of the moment, DeGraw is “currently under observation” in hospital according to what has been his representative told US Weekly.

DeGraw came from South Fallsburg but got an apartment in Manhattan. He and his brother owned a bar in East Houston named National Underground. The incident was purely an unprovoked attack and it is not related to a robbery.

DeGraw opened the summer with Maroon 5 and has been famous for the hits “In Love with a Girl”, “Chariot”, “Follow Through” and “I Don’t Want to Be”. The latter song was featured as the theme song for the TV drama One Tree Hill. He will be releasing an album this coming September and is currently touring with Maroon 5 and Train.
