Michael J. Fox Sells ‘Back to the Future’ Sneakers

Michael J. Fox brought to The Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday what we never thought would really come to life. The actor known for his portrayal in Back to the Future movies brought with him a pair of Nike MAGs, inspired by the time-travel sci-fi movie series and a replica of what he wore in Back to the Future II in 1989.

When Fox played Marty McFly on Back to the Future Part II in 1989, he wore a pair of Nike sneakers that seemed years ahead of its time. Now the sneakers that lit up (although without the power laces) is no longer the sneakers of the future as the actor has put the limited edition shoes on auction.

About 1,500 of these are being auctioned off online with proceeds going to the actor’s research foundation for Parkinson’s disease. Fox also disclosed that Sergey Brin, a co-founder of Google is matching bids up to $50 million. Now this is one rich sneakerhead!

Check out nikemag.ebay.com if you can still bid for your own pair of Nike MAGs.
