Ellen DeGeneres Comedy TV With Wife Portia De Rossi


TV host Ellen DeGeneres and wife former-model Portia De Rossi collaborate on a comedy television project. This would be Portia’s imminent return to the small screen this coming fall.

As Deadline.com reports,NBC has snapped up the project and made a “put pilot commitment,” meaning that the project has costly penalties if it is not picked up as a series.

The story line of the show is about dueling sister, one of which will be played by DeGeneres’ better half,Portia.The show is written by “Samantha Who?” co-creator Don Todd.Ellen DeGeneres will be an executive producer of the series through her television production company called A Very Good Production, based at Warner Bros. Television, which also produces her talk show.

As of the moment the show is yet to be named but had interest from several major networks before being nabbed by NBC.

It has been almost a year since De Rossi was seen at the small screen on “Better Off Ted,” which lasted two seasons and went off the air in 2010. The actress is also known for roles on “Ally McBeal” and “Arrested Development.”

The powerful female marriage of De Rossi and DeGeneres were made possible on August of 2008, at a time when same sex marriage licenses were granted in California.
