The X Factor US Debut With ‘New’ Judges

Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul are back together on reality TV in “The X Factor” Wednesday night on Fox. This time they have new celebrity judge Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger join the team along with record executive L.A. Reid. Scherzinger has replaced Cheryl Cole who was one of the judges in the show’s UK franchise.

The show may be much bigger than other reality-based talent searches like American Idol, with the winner getting a $5-million recording deal.

The U.S. edition’s season premiere showed potential with talented 13-year old Rachel Crow impressing all four judges. Another teener, 14-year old John Lindhal also got all the judges say yes. Other notable performances during the West Coast auditions were Terrell Carter, Simone Battle and Stacy Francis.

There were also misses just as there were hits as the show had aspirants who were clueless of their own talent or lack thereof.

The show has potential based on its season debut. Viewers would also look forward to how The X Factor judges work together, especially Cowell and Reid who seem to be on a collision course sooner or later.
