Sly Stone: The Rise and Fall

We have heard of stories about rock stars unable to handle success fall despite making millions of dollars. Sly Stone is just another one of those suffering from the same fate although he is taking his misfortunes lightly.

Sly Stone formed the band Sly and the Family Stone with siblings Freddie and Rose fusing funk and soul into some of the hits of their time like ‘Everybody People’ and ‘Family Affair’. In 1993, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Sly and the Family Stone was one of the pioneers of funk bands in the late 1960s to the early 1970s, earning enough money for Sly to afford a Beverly Hills Mansion in his heyday. Now one begins to wonder where all the money has gone that Sly now lives in a camper.

Drugs, bad decisions and a manager that milked his cash all made up for what Sly is today. The eccentric musician is still visible in the music scene but he is still dealing with the same problems until now.

It is quite sad to see good talent go to waste when he could have been in better control of his life and career.
