Guns N’ Roses Nominated To Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame

Guns N’ Roses has just been nominated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Tuesday. This means that the Hollywood-based hard rock band was nominated on the first year of eligibility which is 25 years after the release of an album or single.

The band has made a huge impact to the music scene between the mid 1980s and early 1990s with hits such as ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘Paradise City’, ‘November Rain’, ‘Patience’ and the remake of ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’. Front man Axl Rose and lead guitarist Slash have become iconic figures in their heyday but all the original band members except for Rose have left.

In case G N’ R gets inducted to the Hall of Fame in April 2012, it would be interesting to know if the original members Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin would be willing to reunite and perform at the induction ceremony.

Rose in an interview three years ago has expressed no interest in a reunion while Slash ambivalent on the idea. In the past, estranged bands like The Police and Led Zeppelin put aside their differences to perform at the induction ceremony.

Who knows? This would surely get G N’ R fans excited.
