Kanye West Leads Grammy 2012 Nominations

The complete list of Grammy Awards 2012 nominees has been released and among the notable singers of the industry, Kanye West grabbed the most number of nominations. He got seven (7) nods which includes the Song of the Year. Following close to him is Adele with (6) along with Bruno Mars who are both competing for the album, song and record of the year.

Foo Fighters also got (6) followed by rapper Lil Wayne with (5). Bon Iver snagged (4) including record and song of the year categories. Everything was made known during the Recording Academy’s fourth annual live concert special that aired in CBS wherein nominees like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj were featured.

The announcement of winners will be on February 12 in Los Angeles. It would be the first time to have 78 categories from the usual 108 after so much protests. The Best Zydeco or Cajun music is no longer included in the list and the separation of Male and Female categories for pop, R&B and country and vocal categories is also omitted. For this year’s best pop solo performance, Bruno Mars with Grenade is the only male artist to face against Adele for Someone Like You, Lady Gaga for You and I, Pink for (Expletive) Perfect and Katy Perry for Firework.

Music lovers would surely be looking forward for the announcement of winners. “It is just rightful to give awards to these notable singers along with their wonderful musical craft. After all, their music played a great role in decreasing our stress after a hard day’s work,” says Elaine Grant, a music lover and at a same time marketing agent for boat sale in Philippines.
