Matt Lauer Replacement could be Ryan Seacrest on Today

If ever Matt Lauer leaves his co-anchor seat on NBC’s Today Show in 2012, he would probably be replaced by none other than Ryan Seacrest. Apparently, the Today producers met with the American Idol host on Tuesday for a preview talks about the possibility of succeeding Matt Lauer, according to Wall Street Journal report. Matt Lauer has been with the show Today since 1997 and he has been thinking of leaving the show for unknown reason at all.

In addition to that report, several NBC executives already met Ryan Seacrest Tuesday night to discuss possible negotiation and with regards to him joining the morning show. The said talk could also be a negotiating tactic on the part of the NBC, who will need a strong successor when Matt Lauer does eventually goodbye to the show.

Meanwhile, the negotiations with NBC Universal and Ryan Seacrest about Matt Luaner succeeding are still ongoing and nothing has been decided yet. Seacrest already works with NBC Universal, hosting and producing a daily news show on the company’s E! network and producing the Kardashians’ reality franchise.

We still cannot picture yet Ryan Seacrest conducting the interview in the show. And allegedly, Seacrest would be paired up with Ann Curry. Isn’t it true?
