In an interview with Access Hollywood on Monday, Parton said that “I was brought to tears again last night, as I’m sure many were, when Jennifer Hudson sang ‘I Will Always Love You’ on the Grammys in memory of Whitney.”

Jennifer Hudson, 30, who won as American Idol Season 3 finalist in 2004, won a Grammy Award via her self-titled 2008 debut album, which was presented to her by Whitney Houston, whom she claims as among her inspirations.

Whitney Houston’s lead single “I Will Always Love You” became the best-selling single by a female artist in music history. With the album, Houston became the first act (solo or group, male or female) to sell more than a million copies of an album within a single week period.
