Michael Bay Talks About New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Version

After the success of The Transformers movie series, director-producer Michael Bay is now working on his film version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The franchise that began as a comic book in 1984 may not ring a bell in today’s generation of superhero fans but kids of the 1980s can surely relate to the wisecracking, pizza-loving gang of modern day ninjas.

At a recent Nickelodeon presentation in New York, Bay revealed that the ninja turtles are actually aliens and his statement did not sit well with fans. Old school fans of the crime-fighting turtles still believe that their heroes were turtles transformed by a mysterious radioactive chemical.

Michael Bay’s statement was greeted by outrage in various social media but the director-producer appeals to the fans to give him a chance to present his take on the ninja turtles. “Fans need to take a breath and chill. They have not read the script.”, Bay said. “Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of ‘Ninja Turtles’ to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax… We are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

Whatever it is, it must be something to look forward to when Paramount Pictures releases the latest ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie.
