Jennifer Lawrence Carries ‘The Hunger Games’ On Her Shoulders

Jennifer Lawrence may have saved ‘The Hunger Games’ from further negative reviews. Critics hailed Lawrence for her performance of the lead character Katniss Everdeen in the film adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novel. The film is a first of a series of screenplay adaptation of the young-adult novel.

The story revolves around Katniss, a 16-year old girl playing in a death match among teenagers in post-apocalyptic North America. One noticeable difference in the film version is that it was not narrated from a first-person perspective. Despite the change, Lawrence still delivered with a strong performance by showing the lead character’s will yet exposing her vulnerability.

Known actors such as Woody Harrelson and Stanley Tucci lent their talents to support the cast but it was clear that Lawrence as Katniss owned the movie.

With critics praising the young actress for her work in ‘The Hunger Games’, expect to see more of Jennifer Lawrence in succeeding episodes of the highly-anticipated screenplay adaptation.
