Christie Brinkley Talks About Ex-husband

It is seems supermodel and actress Christie Brinkley,58, has had enough of ex-husband Peter Cook destroying her in the media that she is raring to fight back now.

For the first time in four years Brinkley appeared on the ‘Today’ show, and talked about her messy divorce from Cook, with host Matt Lauer.

Brinkley said she’s “turned the other cheek” while her husband of 12 years vilified her in the press. “There’s not one quote from me anywhere. This is the first time I’ve ever been on a show [to talk about the breakup].”

“Since the day that he realized that I wasn’t coming back, there has been a real character assassination going on. I asked for and got a confidentiality agreement with the original divorce. I alone have maintained the confidentiality agreement. I had offers for a sympathetic show from Oprah, Jeff Zucker offered me an hour on primetime. Everybody asked me to come on. I did not want to do it.”

Brinkley admitted that she had become embarrassed by the public spectacle her 53-year-old ex has created.

“I have never taken part in name calling. The only thing that have ever said, after my second trial. . .I simply said as a public service: ‘Google divorcing a narcissist.’ Because I’m not alone. I’ve gotten hundreds of letters from women that are going through this,” Brinkley said. “It’s not easy.”

The supermodel ended the interview trying to fight back the tears, telling Lauer “[Peter] continues to contact me. . . I just want peace. And every time I have any joy or any kind of success in anything, he has to try to destroy it.”
