Rookie Doug Martin Sets Record for Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A newcomer but certainly with not short of heart and skills.

Doug Martin proved what he’s got as he made a record for his team this early in his career in the Tampa Bay Buccaneer.

He recorded 251 yards and four touchdowns in their win against the Raiders on Sunday in a 42-32 score.

The win was more memorable for Martin who was born in Oakland as he scored on runs , 45, 67 and 70 in front of cheering fans and close friends and family members.   He hails from Boise State.

Martin was the 31st pick last April.

His performance was superb that his run was only 45 yards short to tying with that of Adrian Peterson’s single game record in 2007 season of 296 yards.  He now joins the rank of Mike Anderson who made of least 250 yards with four touchdowns in just one game.

“Everybody was there. It was awesome.  It’s surreal right now. I’m just doing my job out there. I’m honored,” said Martin.

In their last game against Minnesota, he made 214 yards and two touchdowns.  He was named the offensive rookie of the month in the NFL.

Martin had 214 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns last week in Minnesota to cap a month in which he was the NFL’s top offensive rookie.
