Russell Crowe Play Hugh Jackman Wolverine Role

Russell Crow has admitted he suggested Hugh Jackman to be the perfect one to play the role of Wolverin in new X-Men movie.

“Russell has given me advice several times at key moments in my life that helped with my career. I also owe him because two of the biggest roles I’ve ever had in my life, he turned down – and suggested me for them,” the actor reported in a new interview, to promote “Les Miserbales.”

Apparently, the ‘Noah’ star was initially offered to portray the ‘X-Men’ character, but when he turned down the film, he suggested producer Bryan Singer spoke to the ‘Real Steel’ star instead.

He explained to the Grill Team on Australian radio station Triple M 104.9FM: “Bryan Singer asked Rusty to do Wolverine, and he said, ‘Nah mate I’ve just done ‘Gladiator’, it’s not for me but you should look at this guy…’ ”

Hugh will next appear in James Mangold’s sixth instalment of the X-Men franchise “The Wolverine” this coming July 2013.
