Unfortunately, fans were shocked when Maria Menounos got kicked off from Dancing With The Stars 2012 on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 on their Week 9 elimination night or semi-finals, despite leading the scores on Monday and received a perfect score from the judges.

As featured at ABC on Tuesday night, Maria Menounos & Derek Hough were eliminated from the DWTS 2012 semi-finals, with the show now with only 3 dancing pairs left; while William Levy & Cheryl Burke was requested to repeat their performance last time which they did.

On Monday night, Maria & Derek led the scores (59/60) and received a perfect score from the judges in Round 1, while William & Cheryl landed second (58/60) and received a perfect score in Round 2. Katherine Jenkins suffered a back injury due to a complicated dance move.

On Tuesday night’s elimination, Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas were the first ones to be announced as safe despite Katherine’s back spasms the other night. She and Mark jumped around and screamed in the ballroom as the audiences’ votes saved her.

Meanwhile, Maria & Derek landed in the jeopardy after Alannis Morrisette performed her latest single “Guardian” from her upcoming album ‘Havoc and Bright Lights’.

Later, Carrie Underwood sang her latest song “Good Girl”, the first single off her new album “Blown Away”; and William Levy & Cheryl Burke were announced as safe while Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd were announced to be joining Maria & Derek in the jeopardy.

Apparently, Maria Menounos, who also received a perfect score during Week 7 in the episode called ‘Classical Week’ after she dressed up as a vampire and bite Derek‘s neck on the last part, was eliminated and the crowd was seen as surprised after the result was announced.

With Maria Menounos’ elimination, Katherine, Donald and William will advance to the Season 14 of the Dancing With the Stars finale. The top three will perform on Monday, May 21 for the last time and a winner will be crowned on Tuesday, May 22.
