“More Filipinos get their nightly dose of entertainment fare and news from ABS-CBN Corporation, which obtained an average individual TV rating of 42.1% as against GMA-7′s 29% on primetime TV when viewing levels peak and where advertisers make most of their ad placements.

“Based on Kantar Media data for individual national TV ratings from October 1 to 19, ABS-CBN led all TV networks in Metro Manila during primetime with an average TV rating of 35.8% versus GMA-7′s 31.6%.

“For the Oct 17-19, data show that ABS-CBN’s primetime offerings remain unbeaten with 100 Days to Heaven leading the pack with an average individual rating of 19.9% nationwide vs GMA-7′s Iglot with 10.1%.

“Newcomer Budoy instantly made a strong impact as it debuted on second place on the three-day period with an average individual rating of 17.3% nationwide, slamming GMA-7′s highest rating and highly touted primetime show Amaya (11.1%). ABS-CBN’s Budoy also beat GMA-7′s Amaya in Metro Manila (15.1% vs 11.6%) and Mega Manila (13.9% vs 13.2%).

“When it comes to news, TV Patrol remains to be the number one newscast with an individual rating of 15.9% nationwide against GMA-7′s 24 Oras with 10.6%.

“In total, ABS-CBN obtained an audience share of 35.1 percent based on total day individual ratings for the period of October 1 to 19. This is also the same audience share of its rival GMA.

“Meanwhile, ABS-CBN continues its leadership among all AM radio stations with DZMM registering a 44.6% audience share in August 2011, 15 points higher than GMA-7′s DZBB’s 29.3% share, according to Nielsen Media Research data for Mega Manila.

“Even on FM band, ABS-CBN continues to beat GMA as seen in the latest Nielsen Media Research data for Mega Manila. ABS-CBN’s Tambayan 101.9 had an audience share of 22.1% as against GMA’s Barangay LS with only 16% in August 2011.

“Kantar Media has 22 TV networks, ad agencies, and pan-regional networks subscribing to its ratings services. Among its current subscribers are ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, Adformatix, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann, and Wellmade Manufacturing Corporation. “ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.

“ABS-CBN registered a consolidated net income of P1.7 billion in the first six months of 2011, while GMA Network reported only a P1.05 billion net income in the same period.”

In her interview with Push.com.ph, Megan Young’s younger sister Lauren reveals that she is not yet ready to take on mature and sexy roles as she has a long way ahead of her and would like to focus on a dramatic career first before contemplating on other roles,which she expressed would be considered on most appropriate time in the most appropriate project.

The 17-year-old actress says,she is “still very young and I have a long way to go.”

“I’d like to stick to drama roles. I’m open sa lahat ng roles. Pero as of now, ayoko magpa-sexy. Hindi bagay sa age ko. But I’m not closing my doors,” she said.

Lauren Young,who plays Via in the hit remake “Mula Sa Puso” which topped nationwide ratings both on its timeslot and over-all TV ratings,portrays the character originally played by former ABS-CBN primetime princess,Claudine Baretto.

The original “Mula Sa Puso” has always been an epic tele-drama,its no wonder that Young is being compared with the original actress who portrayed Via.More so, Push.com.ph reported, however, that people see Barretto-which is famous for her superb acting skills and top-rating drama, more in “Mara Clara” star Julia Montes than in her.

Lauren,instead of comparing herself with Julia,she proactively expressed her admiration with the Mara Clara actress.

“[Si] Julia, napakagaling niya, hangang-hanga ako sa batang ‘yan,”Lauren said.

Landing a remake project,which the original fared successfully, has prompted some issues that the young actress is gaining the glory which was made by the original cast,particularly branded as Claudine Baretto’s shadow.

The teenage-star expressed her desire to make a name of her own and not treading on someone else’s shadow and exerting all her efforts to do her job well.

“I want to make a name for myself…Ayoko ma-compare kahit kanino. I just want to do my job,” she said.

As “Mula sa Puso” airs its final episode later today, Young said she will miss working with her co-stars.

“Ang dami kong natutunan dahil sa kanila. Direk Wenn (Deramas) taught me the value of humility and hard work. Natuto akong umiyak at mag-memorize ng lines on the spot. I owe it to him kung ano man ang narating ko ngayon sa showbiz,” she said.

Lauren,which is guaranteed to have a bright acting career,hopes to be able to work with her “Mula Sa Puso” co-stars on the future.

As expected, she did not disappoint in her interview with the Buzz’s Boy Abunda this afternoon. She parried and answered very well each and every nerve-wracking and controversial question Abunda threw at her.

I think Domingo is out to prove that despite being known as a ‘comedienne’, people ought to take her seriously.

But, there was one question that left her dumb-founded and at a loss for words – of the three networks she ‘crosses over’ to, GMA7, ABS-CBN and TV5, which one does she consider to be the best.

She was in a tight spot, she was after all in ABS-CBN territory, while she has a regular shows at the two other networks.

Since Abunda took the initiative to bail her out – telling her she can choose to answer or just walk away, Domingo stood up, shouted “Taxi!” and walked away (with aplomb I must say).

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 2 Winner Marcelito Pomoy

Growing up, he took odd jobs like poultry work and street vending. Now that he is two-million-pesos richer, the greater reward is the opportunityfor his family to reunite.
In an interview in the talkshow The Buzz, he was asked about his sexual preference to which he responded to, without batting an eyelash, that he is a straight guy.

In fairness to Barretto, she cordially met the media on the set of her photo shoot and gamely answered all questions thrown at her about her family, career, and even her recent trampoline accident.

Things started to turn ugly after the actress said she dreams of studying again, as this made a reporter (said to be from the print media) to point out that while her daughter Dominique is already in college, she just finished 3rd year high school.

Naturally, Barretto felt offended and shot back, “That’s very intrusive. Why emphasize that? … Kakulangan ko ba ‘yon bilang tao (Does that make me a lesser person)? Humaharap naman ako ng maayos sa inyo (I’m here in front of you as a decent person) so why grill me on that? I think we should stop this interview. Nakakapikon na (This is upsetting)!,”

Then turned her back on reporters.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News later on, Barretto explained she did not walk out during the interview.

She said, “I did not (walk out). I just chose to stay away from a situation which is against my sensibility and dignity. You just can’t stand by and accept all questions thrown by media against you and be kawawa (pitiful). That was my choice,” Barretto said.

Involved in the incident were Bianca King, Lovi Poe, Michelle Madrigal and Solenn Heussaff.

According to reports, the four lovely Kapuso stars were in Cebu for a segment of the first anniversary special of GMA7’s Sunday noontime show “Party Pilipinas”.  While waiting on the airport for their flight to Manila, the four Kapuso stars were invited by an airport staff to stay in a VIP room of the pre-departure area.

However, they were surprised to see that in the same VIP room were the ABS-CBN Kapamilya stars who were also in Cebu for their ASAP show.  Despite the seemingly uncomfortable situation, reports said that Luis Manzano and John Pratts entertained the four GMA celebrities and were very accommodating.

But things got nasty when a staff of the Cebu Mactan Airport asked them to leave the VIP room.  Luis and John Pratts were said to have intervened in the tense situation but Bianca King and rest just followed the instructions of the airport staff.

Bianca King reportedly confirmed the news via Twitter.  She was described as very furious to the staff of the airport as she felt humiliated especially in front of John Pratts and Luis Manzano who were talking to her when they were asked to leave the VIP room.

The staff that was said to have asked the four Kapuso stars to leave the VIP room was identified as Maryann Dimabayao.  She is the OIC of the Public Affairs of Mactan Airport.

She clarified that she did not humiliate Bianca King and her friends.

“Hindi naman po namin sila binastos.

Nakayuko pa nga ako nang kinausap ko ang PA [personal assistant] ni Bianca. Hindi si Bianca ang una kong kinausap, kundi ang PA niya.

Pero nang si Bianca na ang nakausap ko, lumapit ako sa kanya para hindi naman marinig ng iba. I approached her in a nice way na hindi naman sila ma-offend.

I know nagalit siya, pero hindi ko naman sila pinalayas talaga o binastos. Pinalipat ko lang po sila sa kabilang lounge area, kasi ABS-CBN paid for that VIP Room.”

Ms. Dimabayao added that a different staff had invited Bianca King and the rest to stay inside the VIP without knowing that the room was paid by the sponsor of ABS-CBN.

I just can’t imagine how it felt to be inside a VIP room filled with Kapamilya stars and then booted out in front of them.

Melissa is going to star on her very own afternoon soap opera at the Kapamilya network entitled “Nasaan Ka Elisa?”

In an interview, Melissa expressed her joy with the opportunity given her and also shared to fans that a different side of her is to be expected from this soap.

“Sobrang thankful ako kasi in many years I’ve never been asked to do a lead role. With this new show sobrang overwhelming yung feeling and sobrang saya ako kasi hindi ko inexpect talaga.

This project is way different from anything I’ve done before talaga. Lahat ng hindi ko ginagawa dati eh lalabas dito sa ‘Nasaan Ka Elisa.’”

Though rumored boyfriend Jake Cuenca had already expressed reservations on seeing Melissa showing some kin on television, the young actress said there will be more daring scenes on this soap.

Other stars to join the soap are Mickey Ferriols, Agot Isidro, Aldred Gatchalian and Albert Martinez among others.

‘Nasaan Ka Elisa?’ will premiere at the Kapamilya network on March 21.

Sex Bomb Dancers looking for greener pastures.

The TV appearance of Sex Bomb Dancers was a surprise to many viewers who were not aware of the group’s scheduled guesting.

Sex Bomb Dancers started their career at Eat Bulaga, ABS-CBN’s fiercest rival on the noontime show slot.  And so far, Eat Bulaga remains at the top.

Eat Bulaga, with Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon gave the group their big break in showbiz that also paved way for some members to enter acting, and with the group having its own drama series “Daisy Siete.”

However, some members of the dance crew were absent during the guesting at HYY like Aira Bermudez and Rochelle Pangilinan.

With their first ever TV appearance on an ABS-CBN show, viewers speculate that the group is going to jump off ship and become the newest Kapamilya members.

Sunshine Garcia, a senior member of the dance group however said during an interview that everything is still speculations on their purported transfer to the Kapamilya network.

“Guest lang muna. ‘Yun ang sinabi sa amin. Siguro kapag nagkaroon na talaga ng desisyon ang manager (Joy Cancio) namin na mag-stay kami dito or magiging freelance. Kung ano po ‘yung sabihin niya, susundin namin. Kasi alam naman ni Ate Joy kung ano ‘yung makakabuti sa amin,” said Garcia.

Truth is, there are indeed plans for their transfer.   Garcia furthered that they are sad that they have to leave their home network, but they need to work support for their families.  This despite the group’s fears that they might lose their fan base if they are to transfer at ABS-CBN.

It was reported by several entertainment sites that Sex Bomb Dancers manager Joy Cancio accepted to be the choreographer of Happy, Yippee, Yehey”.

Maybe the grass is greener at ABS-CBN.

What will Joey de Leon and Vic Sotto say about this?  Will it be good for the group to transfer to ABS-CBN and will they help boost the TV ratings of HYY?
